Perennials
Perennials collection in the Botanical Garden and Arboretum
contains more than 4 000 taxons. Plants are arranged according to: - GEOGRAPHICAL ORIGIN- plants of the Mediterranean, North America, East Asia, south Hemisphere, Caucasus, Middle Asia and Czech native plants (these make the ground of south Europe steppe exposition, they are also planted in the Botanical System. They are mostly species from warmer meadow and steppe formations of Czech Republic). - GENERA AND FAMILIES
This collection contain only cultivars of Iris barbata group Elatior. Plants are arranged according to colours and date of breeding.
Older cultivars are grown in the bed with monocotyledonous plants, newer assortment you can find near the office building.
Our grass collection contains basic species of czech flora and cultivars from families Cyperaceae, Poaceae and Juncaceae mostly planted to gardens.
ACCORDING TO USE
Our garden is also well-know for its alpine plants collection together with several alpine plants gardens:
Old arboretum contain undergrowth perennials. Perennial bed with assortment suitable for full sun, pools with water and mars plants are situated in the Central Part of the garden.
