Botanical Garden and Arboretum

is a teaching and purpose-built facility of Mendel University in Brno, which was founded by prof. Ing. August Bayer in 1938 on an area of two hectares. The area was expanded in 1967 to the existing 11 hectares. The area is divided into five thematic sections.

4000 orchid taxa

300 taxa od Tilandsia

2000 perennials

350 cultivars of large-flowered irises

500 rock garden plants

4000 taxa of woody plants
